2. Local game data

To provide its features, the app stores data such as game progress, scores, coins, unlocked characters and levels, settings, mission progress, purchase status and advertising intervals locally on your device. I do not store this data on my own server, and it is not linked to a user account.

This local storage is necessary to provide the game features. You can remove the data by deleting the app and its data from your device. Please note that progress which has not been synchronised may be lost.

3. Advertising with Google AdMob

Wolkenhuepfer uses Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK to provide automatic interstitial advertisements and optional rewarded advertisements. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

According to Google, the SDK may process data including an IP address used to estimate general location, device or app identifiers, diagnostic and performance data, advertising data, and interactions with the app and advertisements. The actual processing depends on factors such as your region, device settings, consent decision and the advertising mode used.

App Tracking Transparency (ATT) on iOS

Once the consent request shown by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) has been completed, Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt may also appear – but only if no tracking decision has been made on your device yet. The ATT prompt is never shown before the required UMP notices have been completed. You can change your decision at any time in the iOS settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Only if you allow tracking may the Google Mobile Ads SDK access Apple's advertising identifier, the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA). If you decline, or if no decision has been made, the IDFA is not used; Google may then use other app-specific or developer-specific identifiers.

Declining does not prevent you from using the game: Wolkenhuepfer remains fully playable. Depending on your consent decision and availability, non-personalised or limited advertisements may be served instead of personalised ones.

Consent and privacy options

When the app starts, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) asks for your privacy choices where this is required for your region. Consent is based on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and can be changed or withdrawn at any time for the future through the privacy options in the app. Depending on your choice, personalised, non-personalised, limited or technically necessary advertisements may be served. No online advertisement is loaded without an internet connection; pending advertising counters may be stored locally and taken into account later.

4. In-app purchases through Apple

Optional purchases, such as coin packages, removal of advertising or premium characters, are processed through Apple's StoreKit and the App Store. Apple may process Apple Account, payment, transaction, device and fraud-prevention data. I do not receive complete credit card or bank account details. The app receives only the transaction and entitlement information needed to provide or restore the purchased content.

This processing is necessary to perform the purchase requested by you under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Apple's privacy information also applies: App Store and Privacy.

5. Support requests

If you contact me by email, I process your email address, the contents of your message and any information you voluntarily provide in order to respond. Depending on the subject of your request, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. The data is deleted when it is no longer needed to handle your request and no statutory retention obligation applies.

6. This website and GitHub Pages

This static website does not use its own cookies, analytics tools, advertising, external fonts or contact forms. It is hosted using GitHub Pages. When you access the website, GitHub processes technically necessary connection data such as IP address, device and browser information, time of access, pages requested and referring website. This processing is necessary to provide the website securely and reliably and is based on my legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

GitHub may also process data in the United States and other countries. GitHub describes appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More information is available in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

7. Recipients and international transfers

Depending on the feature used, recipients may include Google and its advertising partners, Apple and Apple-affiliated companies, GitHub and their service providers. Data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. According to the providers, these transfers rely in particular on adequacy decisions, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Retention periods

• Local game data generally remains on your device until it is changed, reset, or the app data is deleted.
• Support data is retained only for as long as needed to handle the request or comply with legal obligations.
• For data processed by Google, Apple and GitHub, the retention periods described in their respective privacy policies apply.

9. Your rights

Where the legal requirements are met, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.

10. Children and young people

Wolkenhuepfer is designed for a broad audience but does not collect dates of birth and does not provide user accounts or social communication. The app is not specifically designed as a children's app. Parents and guardians should supervise purchases and advertising choices made by minors.

11. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy will be updated if the app's features, the services used or legal requirements change. The current version published on this page applies.
